What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Stronger

“I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” – Philippians 4:13

This verse keeps running through my head. I recently joined the praise team at my church, and I’m petrified every time I get up there. My anxiety usually gets the best of me, but at least I’m trying. The devil tries to infiltrate my thoughts and get me to not sing, but I have to ignore him and instead glorify God. The Bible tells us to use our gifts and talents for the Lord, and God has gifted me with a musical talent, so that’s why I’m doing it. If you had told me a year ago that I would be singing on stage in front of hundreds of people at church, I would’ve laughed and said “no way!” Now this is something I hope will get easier in time, but I don’t know if it ever will. It is easier knowing that God is with me, and that He is the only one who can give me the strength to do it.

So I’ve been trying to find an outfit to go with these shoes for about a year! I bought them last year at Cato’s, but haven’t worn them until yesterday. My thought process was that I needed either a denim dress or a denim skirt to wear with the shoes. I went online last week, and I found this skirt at Cato’s. I decided to take a mini road trip that night, and I’m very glad because the skirt is perfect! I paired the skirt with this yellow, bell-sleeve top I got at T.J. Maxx recently. I don’t usually wear yellow because I think it washes me out since I’m so pale, but I think this particular shade looks good on me. My black and white purse is from Charming Charlie, and I love that it goes with everything.
